I have been a first grade teacher at Saints Peter and Paul School for over 10 years. Before becoming the first grade teacher, I was a parent volunteer and a substitute teacher within the school. I have two daughters. Both are alumni of SSPP. It was the feeling of community and family that drew our family to SSPP. Outside of school, I love to travel, play with my dog, read, and draw.
During the time when we were in Remote Learning due to the Coronavirus, I made an effort to stay connected to all students. I sent emails with feedback on work that was submitted, took part in birthday parades, and shared videos and pictures on my teacher website to showcase what the class was engaged in during quarantine. On Fridays, we had full class Zoom Meetings to keep in touch and share about a given topic. Many Fridays the entire first grade class was in attendance during these meetings. Building these connections was important. It allowed us to remain close even though we physically had to stay apart.
When you enter my classroom, students know that I am a Bills fan. I am also a fan of anything Disney. I love getting lost in the theming of the parks, properties, and food. Some of my favorite memories and family pictures involve vacations spent visiting Mickey and his friends.
