I have been a teacher for over 20 years, and have been teaching at SSPP since 2018. Teaching pre-K is my favorite. I love watching the little ones learn and grow throughout the year. In addition to being a teacher, I am also a wife and Mom. I have two children. I enjoy spending time with my family and baking when I am not at school. I also volunteer with my son’s Boy Scout troop.
One of the most meaningful connections I made with my students happened during one of the most challenging times in my career. When we were forced to be remote during the pandemic, it was very hard, but we had to find a way to make it work. I was teaching Pre-K so it was even more difficult since the children needed their parent’s help using technology. The children definitely missed each other so I needed to find a way to connect them. We were able to do show and share virtually as well as flip grid to send each other messages and videos which made the students feel more connected to one another as well as myself.
