I have been teaching at SSPP for over five years! I love working with middle school students and growing their love of math. SSPP has been a wonderful place to grow as a teacher and person with the family that is created here. Outside of school, I spend time with my family. I also enjoy crafting and sewing. Every summer I play in a community band as well.
A few years back we had a student with an injury that made it difficult to climb the stairs, especially for lunch. I invited the student and a friend to eat in my classroom with me so that they did not have to climb the stairs. Years later that student still remembers the simple gesture I made and still uses that example in writing about someone who is meaningful in their life.
I play the clarinet. I was a member of my high school’s competitive marching band. In college, I was a member of my university’s marching band. Through the band, I was given some amazing opportunities to perform throughout the US and even in Canada!
